Meditation
Classes
Sometimes, our mind feels like a jungle.
It is filled with a thousand thoughts, ideas, expectations,
responsibilities, rules, plans, disappointments, etc.
Balancing and trying to sort through all of these things can
leave us feeling depressed, anxious and completely stressed out!!
To add to that, our lives are moving so fast.
There is so much information at our fingertips,
there is often far too much for us to process and still stay happy and
healthy.
This
is what meditation is for.
There
are things that happen that we simply can't process. There is
grief at the loss of a loved one, there are difficult situations that
we have experienced in our childhood and in our current situations.
There are world events that just seem unfathomable and
impossible
to digest.
These things can live inside of us for our whole lives
- wreaking havoc on our mental, physical and emotional health.
They can result in physical illness, depression, anxiety,
addictions and a thousand other variations of the same.
Meditation helps us make sense of it all. It
helps "straighten out" the jungle. It gives us a chance to
think clearly. It helps to clear away years of confusion that
can make decision-making and day-to-day life so difficult.
It is an enjoyable, gradual process that has
long-lasting benefits on all aspects of who we are.

Kundalini Meditation:
One of the things that has always appealed to me about
Kundalini yoga meditation is its great variety. Oftentimes,
we find meditation difficult because we can't sit still that long, our
mind won't stop thinking or we fall asleep. This is where
Kundalini meditation is different - because we use different tools to
help train the mind to relax and be calm.
Meditation takes many different forms depending on what you need.
Sometimes we meditate silently with a specific hand posture
(mudra) and a specific breath-pattern (pranayam). Othertimes
we use ancient words (mantras) that we chant to quiet the monkey mind
and to remind us of Greater Truths in our lives. And many
times, these mantras are put to great music where it is very easy to
get lost in the mantra and the beautiful music. (Many of my
students find these to be their favourites!!)
Can I do it?
Yes! Everyone can meditate.
Meditation can be done sitting on the floor or in a chair.
It is great for children, adults, seniors, everyone!
We all have something that a little peace and mental
clarity would help us out with.
Public Classes:
All
kundalini yoga classes include specific meditations after the physical
exercises.
Sometimes, I will hold meditation groups that are specific to a
particular challenge (ie. addictions, anxiety, depression, etc.)
Workshops are also an opportunity to work on specific challenges or to
introduce you to meditation.
If you are interested in finding out when classes or workshops might be
happening, just send me an email and I'll put you on my email list.
Private Classes:
If
your business or group helps people who could benefit from learning
meditation, I am
happy to come and facilitate groups. I can also train your
staff
in various meditation techniques that can be used as needed.
